What strikes me about Suchitra Visweswaran is not only her passion for dancing but her forceful interpretations of the Supreme she continuously seeks through her Art. Her Mohiniyattam is significant for the Madhurabhakti evident in herself and which she easily instigates in the heart of her spectators. Truly blessed.

Suchithra Viswesaran is a Mohiniyattom danceuse and an ardent devotee of Lord Guruvayurappan. I had the privilege of enjoying her performance twice when we conducted her programme in Changampuzha park,Edapally. Suchithra demonstrated her amazing artistry comparable to any professional dancer. On the 1st occasion of "Njanapana", she danced to the prerecorded CD. But her 2nd performance of " Narayaneeyam" was with Live orchestra and the difference was evident. With the prerecorded music, the artist's performance is very much restricted whereas, with the live orchestra one has ample freedom for Manodharmam & Bhavabhinaya. This was proved during her Narayaneeyam dance with live orchestra. Kudos to Manu narayan Vocal and Aymanam Chandru on Mridangam. Suchithra is not only a passionate performer but is a teacher & good choreographer too. I wish Suchithra all the best in her dancing career.

In the year 2008, Smt Suchithra Visweswaran requested my assistance in converting the famous Kathakali padam “Poothana Moksham” into Mohiniyattam Dance format. I demonstrated it with the support of the orchestra. I gave a suggestion too – “ This is the kathakali art form but when you perform Mohiniyattam, it should not be a kathakali performance”. Since then she has composed almost 100 different items in Mohiniyattam bringing innovation. These include Narayaneeyam, Bhagavath Githa, Bhagavatham, Carnatic music etc. All these performances are different from what we normally see in the stage performances. At the same time while performing these on the stage, it never devalues or deprecates the fundamental inner original nature and ‘Bhava’ of the classical dance form. When such a performance is made in full devotion, praising a God or Goddess, in a structural and systematic manner it results in phase where the performer loses his/her own self! Furthermore, the performance in an atmosphere of devotion (bhakthi), that too inside the four walls of a temple compound has the effect of taking the audience too to a higher plane of bhakthi. Characterization and full dedication to the theme are given meticulous attention in every performance. This calls for acquiring knowledge from the learned, continuous and untiring practice till one gets satisfied and yeomen hard work, before the stage performance. But for the blessings from the Almighty and her teachers and Gurus, these feats could not be achieved. We pray for continued grace and blessings of the God on Smt Suchithra, so that the artist in her reaches zenith of the performance.

“Navavarana Kithis” were composed by Shri Muthu Swamy Deekshithar, a “Sree Chakra” devotee. This composition is replete with very difficult and complex Sanskrit words, which are beyond comprehension even by scholars of Sanskrit language. However Smt Suchithra Visweswaran, not only learned “Navavarana Kithis” in consultation with various Sanskrit scholars and composed these in Mohiniyattam dance format within just a couple of months, but also performed the Mohiniyattam on stage, in a devout atmosphere of Bhakthi, on the occasion of ‘Sree Chakra Pooja’ in ‘Mahameru Samarpanam’ at Palakkadu Illam, Balusseri, Calicut. I was lucky to have sung the “Navavarana Kithis” on that solemn occasion. May be as an after effect of such a virtuous act there, we witnessed rains soon after the performance, which made all of us extremely happy. Whichever is the art form, only when the same is performed with full dedication, it becomes a noble and great rendition. Smt Suchithra is in a journey towards achieving perfection in her performance. We wish her all the success in her relentless journey towards perfection and sincerely pray that she is blessed by Goddess Thripura Sundari always.

"If you ask me... It's my pleasure to enjoy the privilege to play Thavil to some of the programmes of Mrs. Sujithra Visweswaran, the legend in Mohiniyattam Sometimes I was so excited to see her entry in the auditorium and had my own doubt whether the Legend is walking or dancing. Many a times I have been much moved by her dace movements, expressions ( Bhavas ) and the Atas mingled with Laya I've never missed to notice her Sanjari by perfect Bhavas without any slip in the rhythm while playing my Thavil to her dance which has brought the entire story in Live in front of the audience It's always my pleasure to play my instrument which adds a grace to her beautiful dance It's needless to say here she would be dancing in the hearts of her fans even after the programme Again and again she has been proving that a dancer should forget the dance while dancing This is not just flattering, its true. Yes.. my words are from my Heart"
